Week 5 – Master Key Experience – Oops – that was another opinion!
If we are to manifest the life of our dreams we must become a clear channel for the good to flow through us. We’ll need to break up the cement, do the mental house cleaning to keep our Definite Major Purpose alive and materializing like a lightning rod drawing your new reality to you. The lesson excerpt below is what the cement is made of that we must clear out.
Master Key Lesson 5.6: Again, this mind which pervades our physical body is not only the result of hereditary tendencies, but is the result of home, business and social environment, where countless thousands of impressions, ideas, prejudices and similar thoughts have been received. Much of this has been received from others, the result of opinions, suggestions or statements; much of it is the result of our own thinking, but nearly all of it has been accepted with little or no examination or consideration.
For example, we are like robots following each other off the end of the earth because we all thought the earth was flat and no one questioned it. To work on the mental house cleaning to clear the channel, we practiced not speaking our opinion this week. Boy, was that tough. For me it was like turning myself inside out to figure out what to say in the first place. I actually am a good listener, but when I think I’m the expert in something, ding – out comes the answer. I would find myself just nodding my head though and letting that person figure their own life out. This is especially hard to do with someone you are especially attached to, like your husband. In my opinion, he is always misbehaving!! A practice I took on this week so I would not respond to him with my opinion, is to say “I love you” and then walk away so that I can disappear what I was about to say and realize that all opinions are all made up anyway.
My experience with the Press Release this week was excruciating. ‘Do It Now’ came up a lot but it worked against me with an old habit that when I have something very important to do and don’t know how to do it, I get a lot of other chores done around the house! As the observer, I had to drag myself back to writing and decided I would work on one segment at a time and then take a break.
I have decided that the key thought I am taking from Scroll I in The Greatest Salesman into next month is: “I awake each morning with a vitality I have never known before. My vigor increases, my enthusiasm rises, my desire to meet the world overcomes every fear I once knew at sunrise, and I am happier than I ever believed it possible to be in this world”.
